Well, it’s nearly 2 weeks since the launch of Box Financial Planning.

We thought it would be really easy to get the various agreements in place with the main providers and support firms. We had been told, they check the FCA register (as they should) to ensure only authorised advisory firms are able to get those agreements.

What we didn’t know, was that some providers and support firms are sent an updated list by the FCA (on a Tuesday) – and use that list – not the actual public list. So although we were authorised and showed as authorised on the main FCA register but their system said I wasn’t. And using that classic line from Little Britain, “Computer says no”.

Fortunately, those firms eventually received the updated list and so we have now been successfully able to obtain those key agreements – as without them, advice to you, the client, would have been very difficult!

You live and learn!
